"Love & Other Drugs" was today's movie. I am saddened to say this movie looked cuter than it truly was. I don't know what I had expected of this movie but I found it very lacking on an actual plot. Man screws anything that moves. Man becomes drug rep and gets an even better push with the selling of Viagra. Falls for a nymphomaniac who has Parkinson's and wants to fix her. Entirely too much sex and not enough story in my mind. Even a few of the reviews made the comment "This was not a movie it was porn."
Jamie is a great salesman. Perhaps a little too good. He is handsome and loves empty sex with whomever he can get his hands on. This sexual prowess of his will cost him his job. In doing so it opens another door for him. A Pfizer drug rep. He finds it hard to meet his quota at first but figures out how to play the rep game. Perhaps he learns it at the right time as Pfizer introduces Viagra.
Jamie will use every angle he can to get ahead. Viagra only boosts him career wise. However he still must contend with his sexual prowess. He meets his match in Maggie, a nymphomaniac with Parkinson's. The last thing she wants is a relationship. Friends with benefits is her ideal relationship with him. Jamie will fall for her. She doesn't want to be a burden to anyone as she grows sicker.
The harder Jamie falls for her the more they seem to grow apart and Jamie is more focused on fixing her like she is a project. Will he figure out what he wants more?

Today's movie was far from my first pick of a movie. I never got into the whole TRON thing ever. I thought it was just an overall geeky and stupid concept to begin with. That was the first time around. Perhaps it was because when TRON cam out the first time I was not the gamer I am today. So you can imagine how I felt when Spencer had mentioned he would love to see "TRON: Legacy". He had opted to not rent it. He is a sweet guy like that. However I could not let him do that. He has never stopped me from watching something I wanted to see whether or not he has watched it with me. So when we got our soda at Kroger we got redbox codes. We got "TRON Legacy" since I did not have to pay for it. That way if it did truly suck I lost no money just a couple hours of my time... HAHA.
That all said... Overall It was a decent movie. While it might not have been my cup of tea I still watched it. I did like the modern upgrades to it. I would take a guess that the people who worked with this film likely even played TRON in the first place. I feel the recreation was fantastic if not better than the original thoughts of it so many years ago. The visual effects were stunning too. Not to mention the color schemes. Very well done. So I am not totally upset I watched it in the end.
Sam was orphaned at 7 when his father disappeared. His father was one of the creators of TRON. He was working on a project with the grid when he disappeared.
Twenty years pass and Sam does not want to run the Encom corporation, the TRON Creators. Alan, a co-creator of TRON gets a page from Sam's father's office. It was disconnected shortly after his disappearance. He urges Sam to check it out. Sam goes to the arcade and finds a secret door that leads to his father's old office. Under the many layers of dust he finds a computer system and boots into it. Before he knows what has happened he winds up inside TRON and in the grid.
Sam will now have to face the games and is a user versus a program. Users are not supposed to be in the grid only programs. In the games he is forced to play he will either win or die trying. It is found out he is a user and brought to Clu. He mistakes Clu to be his father at first. All Clu wants is the "DISK". The disk holds all the information about the wearer of it. In this case Clu had hoped Sam's disk would give him information on the outside world. As he finds none he puts Sam to more games expecting it to bring him to his demise. Quorra will step in to get Sam to his father instead.
Sam reunited with his father wants to bring his father back home and out of TRON. He is wanted by Clu so his disk can be used to get to the outside world. Sam refuses to lose his father once more and has to find a way to get them back home together. Will he succeed or will Clu get the disk?

Today's movie admittedly Spencer wanted to see it more than I did. For any relationship to work their should be compromise. So knowing he wanted to see it I reserved it in the redbox and we picked it up. I was pleasantly surprised with the movie. I had thought it was going to be utterly stupid but i found it a great family fun film. The movie was "Yogi Bear". I often get real unsure of the live action movies. I was used to things as one way so I am never sure if they are going to be worth it. This one was cute and in typical Yogi fashion.
Yogi is constantly stealing picnic baskets. His best friend Boo Boo is always trying to be the voice of reason, even if he is not successful. A "Movie Lady" as Yogi and Boo Boo call her wants to document the park and Yogi through her "Boo Boo Cam". She places a camera in Boo Boo's bow tie. The ranger realizes he likes the movie lady and acts kind of goofy around her.
Even in his lovestruck mind he cannot be prepared for what is on the Mayor's agenda. The Mayor wants to see profit on the park or he intends to rezone it. The ranger has a week to make the budget they are under in. With some help from the lovely movie lady a 100th birthday celebration is planned for the park. The goal to raise the money with discounted season passes.
The ranger asks for only one thing... Yogi to behave. This should not be so hard for a smarter than your average bear to handle. With Boo Boo trying to keep Yogi from not stealing baskets and a power hungry head ranger want to be encouraging Yogi there is bound to be something to go wrong. Yogi will try to jazz up the party and fail miserably. It looks like it just might be the end of Jellystone Park.
Unless... The movie lady realizes in looking through the footage from her "Boo Boo Cam" that there is a rare turtle in the park. Can they save the park and the turtle before it is too late?

Now today I watched Lindsay Lohan in a movie. While I do not totally agree with her personally I have liked her acting in the few movies I have seen her in. This movie was no exception. This movie is too funny. It is a great story about the mess lies can make. Especially lies that people are going to see through at some point. It is a great movie for just about anyone I think. Perfect amount of comedy and drama mixed with a great storyline. The lesson however is "Don't lie, you are going to get caught in the end." The movie was "Labor Pains".
Thea is just living moment to moment. She is working to support herself and her sister. Their parents died in a car accident. Thea tends to lie to cover her rear every chance she gets. While she is trying her best she is not the greatest at being on time for anything. That includes her job and her sister's appointments with her guidance counselor about her future. In Thea's having to play mom the sisters have an obvious wedge between them.
At work Thea can at least confide in her best friend and fellow secretary in the office. The two of them frequent the bathroom for smoke breaks and bathing of the boss' dog. In a heated discussion of Thea's actual views of her boss he happens to over hear her from the men's bathroom next door and barges into the women's bathroom demanding her to his office. There he is intending to fire her. She can't afford to lose her job. She is already behind in rent, she has to support her sister. She in a quick thought says she is pregnant so he can't legally fire her. Without thinking once more she spews out a due date which makes her about 4 months pregnant. Her body does not show that though so her best friend helps her come up with a solution until she can figure out a way out of this.
Before Thea can confess that she lied to save her rear she gets pulled into a deal because of being pregnant. Now to keep the position she has she continues to play the part. One lie leads to yet another as she now begins to believe she is pregnant. She will do nothing without her fake belly and continues to keep up the facade of the pregnancy. Eventually she is bound to get caught up in her lies. When that day comes will she lose everything she has gained in her lies? Including quite possibly the friends she has made and the man she has an interest in? Is there any way for her to come out of this in one piece?

I recalled from working at Walmart that the redbox drops movies around 12:01 AM for new releases. Today being Tuesday the new releases drop today. I have been awaiting today for "Little Fockers". I wanted to see it before now. What was holding me back however was that Spencer had not seen the first 2. Netflix mailed us "Meet The Parents" just in time. So at 12:01 am we were at a Redbox to get "Little Fockers".
Admittedly, It did not live up to my expectations. While it is still a good movie I expected more. Perhaps it was all the hype from the lead up that I found myself just not as happy with the film as I had hoped. It contains more serious tones in this one as well. There is adultery and heart conditions in this one which tends to take away some points of humor. Overall though the 3 movies combined are worth the watch. It is not nearly as great as the first two but they are a hard act to follow. So here is the layout of the movie:
Five years have passed since the Focker wedding. The pregnancy turned out to be twins, a boy and a girl. The twins 5th birthday is fast approaching so the family is getting together for it. Of course this means something is bound to go wrong.
Jack is having heart issues, even had a mild heart attack that he keeps hidden by confiding in Greg. Because of his failing heart he becomes panicked to know the family in general will be well cared for and be in good hands should something happen. Greg is his only choice now. Doctor Bob had an affair so he is now out of the circle of trust, thus leaving only Greg, the male nurse. Greg has maintained the male nurse though he now has a higher position in the hospital and not enough money.
Jack putting pressure on Greg makes him take on a drug campaign for some extra cash. This extra money is not going to come easy when the lovely Andy comes with it. Andy seems more interested in Greg than in his work for the drug campaign. The drug is for erectile dysfunction for people with heart conditions. While he has prepared the presentation from the medical view he is told that is not what they are here for, he has to win them over to buy it. This becomes a comedic routine about his father-in-law. Greg wows them and goes about his business running into Doctor Bob along the way.
Now Greg is bound for disaster with Jack. He is fraternizing with the enemy and has a sexy work partner. Kevin is back in the area well in the money. He still loves Pam. He decides since the house is not in shape for the twins birthday party he will have it at his place. This does not sit well with Greg at first because he wants to prove he can do it all. The renovations on the house leave him no choice. Now all you need is for Pam to find out Andy is not as plain as Greg stated to ignite the flames.
Jack feels Kevin is a better suitor for Pam. He wants to correct her course and have her be with Kevin so he can rely on Kevin to care for the family when he is gone. It will push things too far and all truths will be laid out on the table. Will Kevin get Pam? Will Jack just give up? Is there something more with Greg and Andy? Will everyone wind up the typical family in the end?

Well I had an absolutely fantastic day. Just what the doctor ordered for my severe slump into depression of late. I spent the day with my sister from Georgia. We went and ran some errands. Got lost... literally. We learned a valuable lesson, GPS is much better than APS (Aylen Positioning System). I zigged when I should have zagged. We were to go to WalMart. Instead I found our way to Joe and Heidi's house. Oops lol. Its all good though. In our wrong turn we found a bank that she needed. And across from that was the main road for lunch. We had some Texas Roadhouse. Absolutely delicious. We did find Walmart from there with the waiter's help. Then we finished it off with yummy desserts from the Kroeger bakery case. No better known cure for depression than love and affection. I love my sister, and I am so thrilled we had a day together. She left the movie 'Inception' which I will likely watch tomorrow.
As for a movie for today I watched 'Four Weddings and a Funeral". I loved this movie. I am always up for a good laugh and this movie definitely did the trick. Perhaps because I could relate to the film. I have a very large extended family. My Mother remarried. My biological father remarried. My Mother's second husband loved me enough to adopt me to call me his. Along the way if you count them all... My Mother has called 3 girls hers. My biological father called 3 boys and 4 girls his. My adoptive father has 2 girls of his own other than the 2 he shares with my mother, as well as a handful of children from the 3 marriages he has had he called his. Not to mention I grew up a ward of New York State. That means I have very strong bonds with other I call my family as well. Oh, I can't forget the brother I adopted with pound puppy papers, or the 2 sisters I have picked up in the last few years. So in short this movie was a definite thought of life as I would most likely call it. It is a movie for every taste I think.
Charles seems to like to oversleep. He is late as he rushes a young lady out of the house as well. They are late for the wedding. Charles is a mess in general. He seems to not have much luck with women. At the wedding he will find Carrie. He really likes her and blows off his family to be with her for the night. After a few roadblocks they spend an intimate night together and she leaves in the morning. Before long she is engaged to someone and it is not Charles.
Charles goes to yet another wedding. Once more he is late. His friends and family seem to not have a ton of luck in marrying off. So much so in fact that their father wants it most to see one of them marry before he dies. However they are all free spirits much like their father who is usually the center of the party. The family is beyond unique though their bluntness and seeming lack of tact makes for interesting situations.
Carrie invites Charles to her wedding. It is absolutely beautiful. At the wedding one of Charles' family members will die. They say nothing to disturb the festivities, rather keep it hushed. Now they will attend the funeral. After the funeral, a few months down the road, Charles himself will find himself at the altar. Who will the lucky bride be?
Speaking of weddings... In IMVU today I finally released the Free Companion Ceremony. You might wonder what that has to do with a wedding. Well, a Free Companion is the woman of a man on Gor. By this I mean it is the closest thing they have to a marriage. It is often used as a kind of power play between high castes. The power play would be much like Kings betrothing their children for alliances. Some are offered off to pay debts. Some just fall in love. Where the companionship differs severely from a wedding as we know it is this: In a wedding it is supposed to be until death you do part. In a companionship it is in a year agreement. The movie for today was based on a true story. It is foreign and has subtitles. Admittedly parts of it were very difficult to watch. It was very well done in my mind, very believable. Hard to remember they were actors and actresses. You fall in love with who you are supposed to and hate who you are supposed to. You can't help but feel in this movie. The movie was "The Stoning of Soraya M." Wikipedia offers this: Stoning of Soraya
Soraya is a woman from Iran. She has no rights. She is under the laws nothing compared to the men around her. She will do as she is told no questions asked or pay for her behavior. Her husband is in love with another woman. He wants a divorce and his sons. Soraya does not wish this since it will leave her and the girls in poor shape.
Her husband wants her out of his life. After a village man's wife passes Soraya for wages takes on a womanly role for him. She cooks and cleans as well as cares for his son. She returns to her home and cares for her family as well. The rumors begin as she spends much time there that she and he are not acting appropriately. Many of these rumors are started by the husband who wishes to be rid of her.
Soraya will be faced with charges of adultery. In her society that is punishable by death. All he needs is to get the man she works for to say she has done something she should not have. After all in the world she lives in a woman must prove a man's guilt, however she must prove her own innocence.
